Advent: Day 4

Lego Calendar:  When Landon woke up this morning and came to open his lego calendar, Mauryn said Landon let's have some team work today okay.  Mauryn's duty... hold the window open so Landon could see the picture.

The lego creation today, well we are not quite sure.  We are waiting to see if it goes with another day.

When I was reading to the kids this morning from our advent story, Bartholomew's Passage, the life application lesson was exactly what one of our activities was going to be for today.  I love when things come together without even planning it!

Activity: Pick the name of a family member and serve them this week {secretly if possible}.

After picking their names, we came up with a list of ideas for how we could serve the person whose name we had drawn.  Some if their ideas were: making that persons bed, clearing their dishes from the table, folding their laundry, putting their laundry away, picking up toys or books that they left out, do their dishwasher job, and put out or clean up school stuff.

This year I purchased two artificial trees for the kids' bedrooms.  The trees have lights but we didn't have any extra ornaments for them. Since my kids like to do art projects, I figured we could make a few ornaments for their tree.  Today we made jingle bell angels.  They turned our really cute and were super easy to make.. thank you Oriental Trading Company!

Bible Verses:  Revelation 22:6  The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”

2 Peter 1:19   We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
