Lego Stars Wars Calendar:
Activity:
make glitter ball ornaments or fabric ball ornaments
one of the highlights of the kids last year was making swirl ball ornaments.
i knew the kids would enjoy making ornaments again but wanted something a little different.
i turned to interest for some inspiration.
i found an idea for a glitter ball ornament.
the kids started by squirting some pledge floor cleaner into the empty ball
they swirled the floor cleaner around until the inside of the ball was coated with the cleaner
then they added glitter and swirled and
shook the ornament until it was coated with glitter
this little one loved her glitter covered thumb :o)
i wish i had picked up some more ornaments
they loved making these glitter balls and they were super easy
the fabric and mod podge ornaments caused a bit of frustration for them
my kids discovered a love/hate relationship with mod podge
the kids took an ornament and add some mod podge
after they applied some mod podge they put on scraps of fabric
then applied more mod podge over the top to get the fabric to lay down and stick
even though they were a little harder for them and caused them some frustration, the ornaments still turned out pretty cute
Bible Verses:
The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:
“I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way”—
“a voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.’”
And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”who will prepare your way”—
“a voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.’”
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
