Confession

I love fountain soda.

Almost as much as I love chocolate chip cookies.

My fountain soda habit was really not a habit but a treat until about a year ago when they built a convenience store a half mile from my house.

Just a short walk on a nice day. There are many nice days in Idaho.

You know when your treat turns into a habit when the employees know you by name and give you your soda for free more often than they charge you!

I need to curb this habit. I don't want to give it up totally because... well fountain soda is goodness in a cup. It can turn gray skies blue.

So dear bloggy readers, any tips on cutting back? Have you kicked a soda habit or any other habit? what worked? any other suggestions of a drink of choice?
(i don't drink coffee - love the smell don't like the taste! i like water and drink lots of water every day)

i have no words of wisdom here, since i heart diet coke.

i used to be a regular coke person - all the way. 2 cans a day. then i stopped cold turkey in college because josh felt it was so unhealthy. i dropped 2 pant sizes in 2 months!

but now i have significant cravings for diet coke, which isn't any more healthy, just no calories.

sometimes, i think i just like the bubbles. so what about sneaking in some carbonated water with lime or lemon? maybe that will help and you can gradually wean yourself down to less soda. keep us posted on your progress. :)

Considering my recent coffee post, I have no wise advice for you. Only empathy. :-)

considering my flabby non excersized self is going to spend a few days with your excersized muscular self i say DRINK ALL THE SODA AND EAT ALL THE COOKIES YOU WANT! until after you see me :-0

and does this mean we are going to have to spend an equal amount of time at 7/11 as we do at starbucks when we are in portland? does 7/11 have cushy chairs, soothing music, and internet?

I like your friend Denise's advise! Why stop? You are a healthy cutey batootie so drink your one a day and feel good about it!

I, too, am addicted to fountain diet Coke. Oh my. And I, too, need to cut back. Although diet Coke doesn't have calories, it does have sodium, and that's never good for anyone. One thing I know that helps is drinking water, and you're already doing that, so you're off to a good start! It fills you up, quenches your thirst, and makes you crave other drinks less. Plus, we all know the endless benefits of drinking water. A couple of years ago when I really concentrated on drinking lots of water and cutting soda out of my life, I lost 32 pounds!
