Blog Anniversary

In honor of my Blog Anniversary, I have done a video post. I was feeling a little pressure from a certain bloggy friend to do a video. And so I folded. Like a chair.

My video camera is a dinosaur. Din.o.saur.  Like the 8 mm tape kind. With no cable for the computer. So my video is done on my little tiny digital camera held at arms length.

I am nervous so I don't smile much but in general I think I am a "smiley" person or so I've been told.  I blink a lot. Nerves again? Not sure.  My eyes get wide like a deer in headlights. Not sure if that is normal for me or not.  It is a bit strange watching oneself on video.

Before the video viewing begins, I want to thank each of you (those faithful few) who read and keep up with our family.  I want to thank all my bloggy friends for being such inspiring, motivating, challenging, encouraging, honest women. Usually pretty funny as well.  I have been blessed this past year by all of you, in so many ways.

Disclaimer: I did not name specific names or blogs because I was fearful my 35 year old mommy brain would unintentionally forget someone and then I would feel horrible.

I am looking forward to another year on this crazy bloggy journey!

You are so unbelievably precious. This video post was just awesome, and I loved hearing/seeing you. Now, when I read one of your posts or comments, I can imagine you saying them! :)

My favorite memory: Following you on your marathon journey. It was AMAZING to see you train for it, and your dedication was inspiring. I could never run a marathon because of my hips/knees, so I felt like I got to run one along with you.

Happy Blog Anniversary. I loved sharing this past year with you!

BTW, since I just won the Starbucks giftcard, don't enter me into the drawing this time around! Your gift and handwritten note were so special to me this year!

I remember a few years ago, when I first met you and your family here in Idaho, that we were both at the Upwards evals at the same time. Morgan was going to cheer and Manda was going to play ball. I had no idea at that time how precious of a woman you are. I count my blessings to call you friend. You continue to inspire me and motivate me to try new things. Because of your influence I have started blogging, attempted running (ha!), been encouraged on those challenging days as mom-teacher, and appreciated your committment to the ministry of the youngest members of our church. Your children are wonderful. I love having Landon and Mauryn in my area of ministry. They both make me smile each time I see them. Oh, that Landon, I tell ya! He is a joy. And Mauryn, she is a doll. Her enjoyment of life and fiesty moments are great to watch. I am glad that Morgan and Manda have developed a friendship. I hope it continues to grow as the years go by. I know God has a plan that is unfolding day by day for you in Idaho. I pray that, someday, this will feel like home, somehow.

Great post!

how fun to get to see and hear you in real life! what a generous give-away-er you are! I love paper source--they have the coolest stuff. this might seem like a cop-out, but it really isn't. i love your last post showing landon eating cotton candy. i absolutely love cotton candy, but it can only be at a fair or other such carnival-type location because it tastes better. and i loved your marathon posts! i think it's incredible that you trained and finished a marathon. i have a half-marathon coming up and i'm pretty nervous. i've never run more than 3 miles at once. you are so great and i love reading your blog. glad we met in cyberspace. (that sounds so nerdy to say :)

You are amazing! My favorite memory happens to be one of our first...we had decided to go rollerblading in the morning...and then ended up chatting all afternoon and evening, and ended with ordering pizza and spending the evening with our families together...I think we were together for about 13 hours. It was a wonderful time! Thank you for being such and inspiration to me. Love ya!

I can't believe it has been a year of reading your blog. Living in MN, your posts have kept us in touch with Cheney family that lived down the street from us. Watching the kids grow and experiencing life has made me laugh and cry. Thanks for all the memories! I identified most with your Missing Home post, probably because we know how it feels to miss our faithful friends. We do miss you all! Please keep blogging..it is such a wonderful blessing to us.

Oh my - you are amazing and so creative. So - what anniversary is this for you? I am so thankful I finally gave in and learned a little bit about "blogging". I know I'm not nearly as creative nor dedicated as you but it is amazing therapy to just read yours! Please, keep blogging because I find that on the days I don't see you, I feel lost (thus the blog helps me know about your days).
(Oh, and just for fun I have to play your game...so my favorite memory will forever be the first day we met. Me with no shower/straight in from a weekend camping trip. You looking so fit, trim, cute, and cheerful. We immediately made connections with St. Peter and the midwest and I just remember coming in the house talking to Pat for hours on how great "the new neighbors" were! If only we would've known how GREAT it would really be!)

You are precious. This blog thing is really such a special way to connect with other moms. I have loved getting to know you, even though it has only been a few weeks. I treasure your comments. And you are WAY better than me on Word Twist! :)

Hi Kris

Since I found your blog I randomly check back in and saw your video today. How fun!

You look so great and your kids are absolutely adorable.

Memory....this is definitely not a favorite, but for some reason when I got to pop room at work and grab a little cup for some fountain pop....I'm reminded of when we had study hall together and you would eat a Kit Kat and have a (presumably) diet pepsi or diet coke with some ice and crank out your calculus homework right before it was due.

I don't know why that memory sticks out to me.

Paper-Source is like a little bit of heaven, right here on earth. Being a paper crafter myself, I love that you have a goal to write notes to friends and family. It really has become a lost art.

Hope all is well with you and your family.

oh, a favorite memory of you, well we are still getting to know each other and each other's families, but i would have to say the night that fin and i just stopped by to say hi to you and the bergs and we ended up staying half the night and we talked while the kids ended up in the pool, clothes, diapers and all.
i look forward to many more memories with you.
happy anniversary!
loves
nic

It's so fun to watch your video and see you in motion. Video is so different from pictures. Very cool.
I loved reading your series about moving to Idaho. It's amazing where God takes us in life-places we could never have imagined going. It's fun to hear your story.

You are so sweet. I feel the exact same way about blogging and all of the friends I've met through it. I was just telling someone today what an amazing community of encouragement it is! Bummer I missed the drawing, but happy blogoversary anyway!

Oh I can't believe I missed the give-away! The ONE time I take an extended break and I miss it! Ugh.

Oh well - it's an awesome idea though! My bloggy anniversary is coming up and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do...

My favorite is probably one of your most recent posts, which was the journey to Idaho. It answered a lot of questions I had regarding how you all got there and gave me insight into both your family and your spiritual walk. So, even though I'm not eligible, I wanted you to know how much I appreciated that post.

I'm still technically taking my break, by the way. You wouldn't know it though... LOL.
