Activity:
free hot chocolate stand
this might be one of the kids' favorite advent activities
this year mauryn wanted signs to hold up
she was great and calling out to the people passing by and letting them know there was free hot chocolate AND snacks
morgan was the hot chocolate maker
landon was ready to jump in with marshmallows or whipped topping
we had two sets of friends join us this year
we had the best weather and our biggest turn out!
it is always so fun to watch people's reactions to the kids yelling at them to come and have free hot chocolate... there are the people who avoid eye contact and ignore us, those that are curious as to why we would do this for free, and those that gladly accept the free hot chocolate and treats. it reminds us of the reactions people have to the gift of our savior... some ignore it, some want to know what's the catch, and some who gladly accept it.
after we packed up our hot chocolate stand, we had some hot chocolate left so we set off to deliver some to the salvation army bell ringers.
i think today was a highlight of our advent season!
