the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor  Luke 3:34

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:
Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers. Matthew 1:1-2

Activity:
make a rag wreath

using this tutorial, i had my kids put together a rag wreath

i love when an advent activity can also become a decoration for our house :o)

i did the prep work and cut the fabric and ribbon
the kids decided on a pattern and got busy tying

they found a good method to getting the wreath filled

it took a bit of time to tie fabric and ribbon on the wreath but the kids did a great job sticking with it

i love how it turned out!
now i just have to decided where to hang it.

each year i set out a basket with our christmas books and we read through them during the season.  i decided to jump on the "wrap your books up" train.  i had morgan and landon wrap up our christmas books one and set them in our basket.  i will say that they have really enjoyed opening a book each day to read. its amazing how something so simple, like wrapping a book, can bring up such excitement.  these are the same books we've had for years but just by wrapping them up it has created a whole new excitement about them.
