days where there is:
the butting of heads
tears
hurt feelings
arguing
teasing
tattling
unkind words
selfishness - in words and actions
at the end of the day this mama/referee feels worn out and discouraged
as i head to bed, turning off lights and closing up the house, relishing the quietness of the night i stop to look in on the sleeping children.
i go to the first room and find empty beds
so i move onto the next room and find -
the girls in one bed
and landon on his bean bag chair having given up his bed for his sisters
the discouragement i felt turns to joy.
even though it's been a rough day - they've worked through their hurts and forgiven each other
they want to have a "sleep over" as they call it {which now happens almost nightly}
they want to laugh, talk, tell stories, and delight in each other.
through it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly, they love each other.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love sleeping children. The day just melts away when I see my babies sleeping.
that is such a sweet ending :)
