I might eat a chocolate chip cookie (or four) every day.
They are one of my favorite foods. Seriously.
If only they were a vegetable....
In honor of my two year bloggy anniversary I am going to share the recipe I use for chocolate chip cookies. They are soft, sweet, and a little salty. I LOVE them.
Because I love them SO much and I am thankful for all my blogging friends, I am going to share a little chocolate chip cookie love and send two readers their very own bag of homemade chocolate chip cookies. Leave me a comment about your favorite cookie or your favorite way to enjoy a cookie. I will draw the two winners on Wednesday August 26th.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
recipe tweaked a little bit from Betty Crocker Cookie Cookbook
1 cup shortening
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 (11.5 oz) milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together shortening, butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add in flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well. Add chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls (or use a cookie scoop) onto a cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 3 dozen (depending on how much dough Lance sneaks from the bowl) Enjoy!
(this recipe is very similar to this one)
A good chocolate chip cookie is definitely my favorite. I am such a cookie person--I will usually pick a cookie over other desserts. Thanks for sharing your recipe. My friend/neighbor makes such amazing cookies--i'd probably run a full marathon just to eat them! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, how fun to win a batch of those yummy-looking cookies! Good giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves all things baking - maybe because he's a chemist and there's some strange similarity between chemistry and baking (he's definitely got it down to a science). Anyway, he makes the most amazing peanut butter cookies.
oooh what a fun giveaway! my favorite cookies are monster cookies! but i'm game for almost any kind. :)
ReplyDeleteI must say that cookies disappear WAY too fast at my house, so any you can send would be great! =)
ReplyDeleteI have loved reading your blog these past (almost) two years. I wonder how early on I found you??
Cookies one of our family favorites. Right now we are sorta hooked on the blueberry almond cookies I got the recipe from our daughter Jodi. I send with my husband for his techs and I take them for my department, the go real fast. But no matter what Chocolate chips cookies are the best. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Homemade chocolate chip dunked in milk. That's what heaven is going to be about, I'm positive!
ReplyDeleteCan I enter too? I'd LOVE to win, but am very thankful for you sharing the recipe!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is probably oatmeal chocolate chip...that way I can justify eating a bunch of them since they are "good for you" with the oatmeal added!
I tell ya what, I ate breakfast, took a run and then had no other than a cookie after my run and I'm probably not even half as bad as my husband.....he is a true cookie monster!
Thanks for the opportunity and again, it's been so good getting to know you and your family!

I'll have to try this recipe! And you're right, it's very similar to Sarah's. But I'm always game for something a little different. My favorite cookie is warm chocolate chip with semi-sweet chips. I'm also a sucker for a good (soft) snicker-doodle.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE COOKIES! I might as well be cookie monster, at least that is how I feel sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI think your cookies (any of them) are my favorite. I can't pick just one. All cookies are best with a tall glass of cold milk or ice cream.
And I will have to second that I think everyone should eat cookies and milk for a birthday breakfast!!!
You are so sweet to share your recipe, but I know that your cookies will only taste the best when they come from your house and your heart! You are a great friend!
thanks for sharing your recipe!
ReplyDeletei really don't have a favorite cookie - it all really depends on my mood. but i do love chocolate chip and oatmeal cranberry chocolate chip cookies :)
